The Lipstick Lush

This is my current skincare routine.

Skin Profile: I have OILY, CLOG-PRONE, ACNE-PRONE skin.

Disclaimer: I am a PRODUCT JUNKIE. I love trying new things with my skin routine. MANY people “don’t have to do alladat”. But I like to because it feels nice to pamper my skin for a few minutes each night.

1. Massage oil mixture into face to remove makeup. The oil mixture I use is Safflower + Camellia oil.

2. Remove oil with a warm baby washcloth or any microfiber cloth. Exfoliate lips with washcloth as well.

3. Use cleansing water on a cotton ball to remove any stubborn mascara/eye makeup. I like Bioderma Crealine, Koh Gen Do Spa Cleansing Water, and Caudalie Makeup Remover Cleansing Water.

4. Cleanse face with a PH neutral face wash. This step is essential. I do NOT like to use harsh cleansers on my face. My favorites are: At Last Naturals MSM Soap, DDF Gentle Cleansing Gel, Bobbi Brown Hydrating Rich Cleanser, Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser, and Makeup Artists Choice DMAE Cleanser.

5. Use AHA toner. I like Silk Naturals 8% AHA toner or Makeup Artists Choice Mandelic toner.

6. Pat Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence into face (I don’t use cotton with this, it wastes product). This product is great for brightening and evening out my skin tone.

9. Apply Eye Cream! This is a MUST. I have been loving Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream or Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream.

8. Apply Makeup Artists Choice Belle Evolve Retinol serum every other night. This is a great anti-aging product that also works to diminish the appearance of dark spots on my face. (Recently I have been using a customized PocketDerm prescription with great success!).

10. Apply Hyaluronic Acid serum or oil. I have been loving HADALABO Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion recently as well as Tamanu and/or Passionfruit Seed Oil. (I like to add Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule sometimes after this step).

11. Apply heavy face cream. My favorites are Mizon All in One Snail Repair Cream, Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream, and Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream. Sometimes I will add a thin layer of Aquafor over everything if my skin has been feeling particularly dry.

1. Splash face with water or use a gentle cleanser (see step 2 above).

2. Use Stridex Alcohol Free Maximum Pads if there is any active acne.

3. Pat Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence into face.

4. Apply Eye Cream.

5. Apply Makeup Artists Choice Gly-Luronic Acid serum.

6. Apply Silk Naturals Vitamin C + Peptide serum. Vitamin C is an ABSOLUTE must in my routine. I rotate between this and ASDM Beverly Hills Vitamin C serum. I like that both products are cheap and have MAP version of Vitamin C which is more stable and less irritating to my skin.

7. Apply a light gel moisturizer (I like Koh Gen Do All-in-One Moisture Gel, Mizon Snail Repair Gel Cream, and Dr. Lin’s Daily Hydrating Gel.)

8. Apply sunscreen. My all time favorite is Biore – UV Perfect Face Milk SPF 50+  PA++++. I like that it doesn’t leave a white cast on my face, has a thin texture, and dries MATTE.

Random bits: I do an at-home glycolic acid peel once a week. I drink a green smoothie every morning for breakfast, as well as (trying to) drink close to a gallon of water a day. I also work out 3-4 days a week. Lastly, I’ve started sleeping with a humidifier in my room to aid in keeping the air in my room moist while I sleep. I’ve found that “killing my skin with kindness” and just adding more moisturizer at night has kept me LESS oily during the day.
